Truck Driving Schools Tell A Different Story

Trucking Jobs and Unemplyment Office Sign

Earlier today, September 17, 2009 a couple of different articles were put out across the country. The stories seem to speak of a few positive notes for the economy and the country as a whole. The positive light seems to be especially relevant to the trucking industry.

In recent weeks past a lot of articles spoke about the state of the economy and even made imminent doom seem likely. Truck driving schools created an opportunity for people to forget the desk job and learn a new skill. Now the economy may be seeing signs of recovery on the horizon and those that attended truck school are now very grateful.

Today The Dickinson Press posted an article written by Lisa Call that tells a much brighter story than articles of the past. According to the article, Job Service North Dakota is over run with job openings. Truck driving jobs are just a few of the several hundred jobs that need to be filled. North Dakota is now being looked at as the bright spot in the economy.

Even before the recession there was a shortage of truck drivers. It seems from the Dickinson article that as the economy recovers, truck drivers will one again be in demand. Those that are able to get training and become a truck driver will become a hot commodity as this job situation spreads to other states.

Hopefully this story spreads to other states. Truck driving schools like CR England’s Premier Truck Driving Schools are taking on new students. If you or someone you know is interested in finding out more information please visit our website: www.GoToTruckDrivingSchool.com

DeKalb Technical College Trucking Schools Swamped With Students

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Alive 11 in Atlanta, Georgia ran an article about the trucking industry. The article was directed more so to truck driving schools and the increase in enrollment. This article seemed to tell a slightly different story than the standard tale of unemployment in the nation.

Trucking schools in Georgia are packed with folks that are looking for training to get into the truck driving industry. According to the article, DeKalb Technical College has seen a 20% enrollment increase when compared to last years numbers. The article also notes that the industry isn’t just for men, and quotes the positive opinion of a female student. Overall the article shows how truck driving school is a step towards a new begining for many.CDL training school

Another very important thing to note here from the article was this statement about the employment outlook for those that get into trucking. “The school’s director says they have a 90 percent graduation rate and about 95% of their students are finding jobs in the trucking industry.” That’s right 95% are finding work. That makes the job outlook look pretty good for those students that enroll.

We also decided to post on this story because the Alive11.com article mentioned that there was a 3 month waiting list for enrollment at DeKalb. At CR England there is no waiting list at all. So if your considering trucking schools, give CR England a look over. The nice thing about CR England is that your guaranteed a trucking job when you’ve completed your cdl training.

Truck Driving School Provides Road Rage Relief

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Trucking SchoolsYesterday in Bingham County Idaho, State troopers were lined scattered all over the I-15 interstate freeway monitoring the activities of drivers.  The main object of the highway patrol here was to watch for aggressive drivers. They were especially interested in drivers that use aggressive tactics around big rigs.

Aggressive driving can include tailgating big trucks, cutting off the trucks, or
staying in their blind spots for extended periods of time. KIDK.com ran an article on the issue yesterday. The author quoted Paul McDaniel, Truck Driving Training
Instructor with SAGE Truck Driving School . He said, “It’s a huge problem
for everybody, especially for trucks.”

The highway patrol monitored drivers from the cockpit of a
SAGE truck driving school truck up and down a 28-mile stretch of I-15 looking for any aggressive drivers. We are glad to hear of another truck driving school getting involved to ease driving conditions on highways.

The highway patrols investigation netted 34 citations. Those that were ticked were also given some literature explaining the aggressive driving crackdown, and why paying more attention while they’re driving is so important.

This crackdown is good news for a truck driving schools students. The fewer tense situations an inexperienced driver encounters the better. In the article the Highway Patrol was quoted, “Ultimately what we want to do is reduce our truck vs. car crash ratio.” They also said that a truck driver that broke the law would also be cited for aggressive driving.

Returning Veterans Can Go To Truck Driving School

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

An article today on The Bulletin was discussing an issue that is beginning to get more and more coverage in the news. According to the article, as many veterans come back after their military deployment to Iraq, they are finding that even truck driving jobs are few and far between.

The article speaks of the job hunting experiences of Oregon Army National Guard Spc. Karly Cooper. Cooper has had a very tough time finding work. In total Cooper says she has applied for almost 90 jobs and still can not find work.

This quote seems to sum up her frustrations:

“We’re everyday people, too — we need a house, a roof over our head,” Cooper said. “We go and fight for our country and we come back and the people that we’re defending, basically it feels like they’re not helping us.”

Cooper is certainly not alone when it comes to the job hunt. According to the article the economy seems to be much to blame for this shortage of jobs. A few years ago veterans were able to find jobs in aviation and construction. Now those fields have hiring freezes or have laid workers off. Veterans are in a tough situation especially with the economy in its current condition.

CR England however, may be able to help some veterans by providing them with a new career through one of our truck driving schools . We have many trucking positions open for experienced drivers as well. CR England offers great mileage pay and can provide excellent CDL training for those that do not have a commercial drivers license.
