Ethanol is Affecting Crude Sales

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Back in March!  According to checkbiotech.org, Ethanol is actually affecting crude sales.  In an article called, “Ethanol set to bite into crude sales” by Tamsin Carlisl, he writes about the fact that there is

“an eight-fold increase in US ethanol consumption since 2000.”

This affects the monopoly of oil and their prices will probably not go up, due to this up and coming new market of energy.  This is a first in a long time and is exciting to watch.

There are some that worry about the world food supply diminishing, due to usage of corn, soybean, and sugar cane for fuel.  And there are others that are excited about a supplementary resource to curve our appetite for oil.  Either way, it can’t be denied that bio-fuels are here to stay.

Here in the United States, the Midwest sells more biodiesel than anywhere else in the country because of the large quantity of soybean farms in the area.  In fact, Minnesota has a law that states all diesel must be blended with biodiesel to be sold in the state.

What this means to trucking, is huge!  Even Willie Nelson is getting involved.  He has a biodiesel he calls BioWillie.  And BioWillie is only one brand of biofuel.  According to the article “Willie Nelson brings biofuel to the red states”, there are hundreds of biodiesel companies out there.   Bio Willie is sold at 22 truck stops and is created out of soybean.

It will be interesting to watch this next couple of years, don’t you think?

Truck Driving Jobs for Military Heroes

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

A few months back there was an article in the Oakland Tribune about Veterans looking for jobs called “Veterans seek help at job expo in Daily City.” They had a job fair just for military veterans called The Veteran Opportunity Expo and there was interesting feedback from the veteran applicants.

Basically, these military heroes were looking for “normal work”. What was at the expo was mostly military like jobs with guns and the possibility of shooting and killing people. Many of the applicants were disappointed in the jobs available and one even stated that he would rather be a janitor than to go back to that kind of lifestyle.

One quote from the article was interesting:

“A lot of students from the military contact us because they finally have some money to go to school with,” said Billijo Brown, assistant director of admissions for The Art Institute of California in San Francisco. “They want to be able to use it to do something they love.”

For Veterans that are looking for a more flexible career, truck driving might be a route to go. Truck Driving Schools are a great way to start a new life in a non-military job. One school that I know of that would be a great fit for military heroes is the CR England Truck Driving School. It is the top refrigerated trucking company in the country. And, once you graduate, you have a job. If there is no funding for schooling, CR England will give you a loan that you can have slowly taken out of your check once you have graduated and are working for CR England Trucking. They have a great school and curriculum that prepares you well for the road. Check it out and see if it works for you at www.crengland.com.

Truck Driving Jobs: The New White Collar Career

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

A couple of months ago there was an article in the Boston Globe that is all too familiar.  Ed Gullo is a  61-year-old news writer who has found a truck driving job as a FedEx truck driver. He is working as a temporary worker during the Holidays. He is out of one career and looking for another.

The article goes on about a 42-year old IT manager who is tracking packages and making deliveries.  They both have different aspirations, but ended up in the same place. Looking at truck driving schools as an opportunity to start a new career.

It is becoming more and more common that white-collar workers are taking blue-collar jobs.  In the trucking business, this is also becoming common.  Patrick Greene was laid off from Bear Stearns where he took care of top executive travel arrangement.  He went into truck driving and is very happy.  Patrick stated “It’s something I always thought I would like, and just never got to do.”  He’s happy and enjoys his new career.

Truck Driving is easier to get into than other jobs just by the fact that drivers are always needed.  There will always be food and product that need to be sent from one part of the country to another.  That translates into many truck driving jobs. Really big trucking companies a lot of times have truck driving schools and hire drivers upon graduation.   Take CR England Trucking.  They have one of the best schools out there and hire graduates immediately.  If you are interested in becoming a truck driver, go to our website CR England and click on Truck Driving Schools.  This may be what you are looking for; travel, flexibility, and hard work.

Are you struggling to find cash to go to truck driving school?  If you are, you are not the only one.  We may have information that will help you.  A credible school will probably cost between $2,000 and $5,000 and for most people, that’s not pocket change. Getting truck driving jobs training is an important step towards a new career. Paying for it does not have to be an obstacle.

We have come up with a few ways to gather the money you need reach your dream of being a truck driver.

Federal Loans – are the least expensive loans, due to their low fixed-rate.  The Federal Government Loans is for continuing education after graduating high school.  Payment with interest begins only after finishing schooling.  Go online to FAFSA and submit a FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online to see if you are eligible.

Federal Grants – are great because opposite of a loan, grants do not have to be paid back.  The beneficiary of grants may receive funding for an array of different reasons.  Some reasons are for disabilities, military, and even low income.  Check out Grants.gov to see if you are eligible.

Federal GI Bill – is great for veteran’s who have served for at least 90 days after 9/11/2001.  Those student’s who qualify, are given the funding for tuition, fees, and housing allowance.  Although a few trucking schools have the requirement of students staying in approved housing during the training.  Go to Federal GI Bill Education Benefits to find out more and if it works for you.

State Trucking Association Scholarships – are offered in quite a few states.  To see if your state Trucking Association has a scholarship for you, go online to your State Trucking Association home page.  All states have unlike criteria, so read carefully to see if you qualify.

Tuition Reimbursement – is common with bigger trucking companies with schools in place.  All you have to do is graduate from there school, and your schooling will be taken (at a low monthly rate) out of your paychecks until paid.  Every school is different, so be thorough in learning how each school’s Tuition Reimbursement Program works.

Financing
– This is where CR England Comes in. Financing is usually taken care of through a third-party financial institution.  At CR England, you don’t have to wory about a third party approving your loan. All students that enroll in a CR England truck driving school are eligible for financing. If our school is not a good fit for you, when your offered financing at another school be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully.  This includes interest rate as well as terms of payment.

We hope the informastion was helpful. CR England is one of the largest trucking companies and appreciates the jobs truck drivers do.
